ICARIS (International Centre for Advanced Research in Identification Science) is funded by an EPSRC call for research into Prevention and Detection of Crime. The network's mission is to undertake internationally leading interdisciplinary research in human identification.
The Centre is the only one of its type in the world.
Its members are comprised of a wide range of experts from many fields, including: micro-reactor technology, DNA profiling, facial identification, non-facial biometrics, biometric computation, and the psychological, legal, and ethical issues related to crime.
